Job summary

A prominent firm in financial services is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to leverage advanced Power BI skills. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in data modeling and strong SQL proficiency, alongside project management experience. This role is targeted for a mid-senior level position and is located in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. Compensation is competitive, with pay rates between CA$75.00 and CA$85.00 per hour.

Base pay range

CA$75.00/hr - CA$85.00/hr

Responsibilities / Qualifications

• 5+ years proficiency in Power BI: Advanced knowledge of Power BI for creating dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
• 2+ years experience in Data Modeling: Expertise in data modeling, including the creation and optimization of data models to enhance performance and usability.
• DAX (Data Analysis Expressions): Strong command of DAX for building complex calculations and aggregations.
• Power Query/M: 5+ years experience with Power Query for data transformation and cleaning.
• SQL: Ability to write complex SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation from various databases, minimum 5 years’ experience.
• ETL Processes: Understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools to integrate data from different sources.
• Programming language: Proficiency in a programming language like Python (Understanding of data types, variables, loops, conditionals, and error handling. Familiarity with Python\'s standard library and commonly used modules.)
• Data Warehousing: Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and practices.
• Project Management: Experience leading BI projects, including planning, execution, and delivery and managing/maintaining the project backlog with stakeholders.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or relevant Power BI certifications to demonstrate proficiency and expertise.
