Job summary

Responsibilities include scrub nursing duties, patient-family education, and maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced setting. CNO General Class registration, BCLS, NRP, and obstetrical experience are required.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Previous obstetrical experience.
• Fetal health surveillance course (FHSL).
• If graduated prior to 1995, medication administration certificate from an approved community college required.

Responsibilities

• Provide postpartum care for mothers and newborns in the Woman and Child Program.
• Perform scrub nurse duties as required.
• Manage workload in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient safety.
• Deliver care with patient- and family-centered approach and evidence-based practice.
• Maintain professional judgment and documentation per policy and standards.
