Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart Inc. is seeking a customer service oriented associate to provide prompt service at the retail postal outlet. You will greet customers, operate the checkout, and ensure accurate cash handling, while encouraging PC Optimum participation and maintaining store presentation.

The role focuses on delivering friendly service, proper documentation of receipts/returns, and upholding health and safety guidelines. You will work in a locally owned store under a national brand network.

• Balance teamwork and efficiency in processing the customer order.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and greet customers.
• Scan or enter product data accurately at checkout.
• Accurately handle cash, coupons, lottery, and PC Optimum transactions.
• Ask for PC Optimum Card during each transaction.
• Ensure receipts and returns are properly documented.
• Merchandise and maintain designated areas (facing, signing, labeling).
• Follow loss prevention standards and manage cash, lottery, and stamps inventory.
• Present a professional image and comply with health, safety, and store policies.
• Perform other duties as required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

• Provides excellent customer service and positively engages with all customers
• Maintains a neat and organized checkout area
• Greets all customers and displays warm demeanor
• Accurately scans or enters product data
• Accurately accounts for cash and coupon, lottery, and PC Optimum
• Asks for customer’s PC Optimum Card during each transaction

MERCHANDISING:

• Ensures proper documentation completed with respect to customers receipt and return of goods
• Merchandises and maintains designated areas (i.e. facing, signing, labeling, etc)

LOSS PREVENTION:

• Ensures loss prevention Standards are followed
• Controls cash, lottery, and stamp inventory

GENERAL:

• Presents proper image to the public in accordance with Uniform Policy and Dress Code Guidelines
• Complies with all health and safety regulations
• Complies with all store policies and procedures
• Ensures the standards of housekeeping and image are maintained
• Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
