Job summary

UNSW Sydney is seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow (Exercise Physiology) to contribute to clinical trials and related research while building an independent program. Working in a multidisciplinary team, you will conduct high-quality research, lead scholarly outputs, and pursue competitive funding to establish research leadership.

The appointment is full-time for 1 year (possible extension), hybrid work (min 3 days in the office) at UNSW Kensington, with a base salary of AU$133k–AU$142k plus 17%

Qualifications

  • PhD in physiology, exercise physiology, cardiovascular science, biomedical science or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in integrative or cardiovascular physiology techniques in human participants.
  • Commitment to ongoing discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Track record of high-quality research with leadership potential.
  • Interest in women's cardiovascular health and sex/gender equity in research.
  • Experience in teaching, tutoring or HDR supervision.
  • Involvement with profession or industry.

Post-Doctoral Fellow (Exercise Physiology)
  • Employment Type: Full - time (35 hours a week)
  • Duration: 1 - Year Fixed Term (possible extension funding dependant)
  • Remuneration: $133k - $142k base (+17% super and a leave loading)
  • Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.
  • Location: UNSW Campus, Kensington (Hybrid working, min 3 days in the office)
  • Travel: Role will require occasional site visits, some will be interstate

This Opportunity

Key Skills And Experience Required
  • A PhD in in physiology, exercise physiology, cardiovascular science, biomedical science or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in integrative or cardiovascular physiology techniques (for example, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, or haemodynamic, vascular, autonomic or cardiac imaging assessments) in human participants.
  • Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
  • A demonstrated interest in women's cardiovascular health and a commitment to advancing sex and gender equity in cardiovascular research.
  • Experience in, or a demonstrated commitment to, teaching, tutoring or student supervision at undergraduate or postgraduate level, and a willingness to contribute to teaching and higher degree research (HDR) supervision.
  • A track record of significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.
