Job summary

CI Investments Inc. is seeking a mid-career trading operations professional to support Order Generation, Account Rebalancing, Corporate Actions, and Post Trade activities. You will collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Traders and Compliance to ensure timely settlements.

You will oversee trade matching across markets, work with brokers and custodians, review post-settlement discrepancies, and help manage collateral and security master data. A finance background is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of middle office experience; CFA/FRM is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Charles River Order Management systems.
  • Experience with collateral management systems and DTCC tools.
  • Understanding of derivatives valuation in multiple asset classes.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Attention to detail with solid financial markets knowledge.
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective time-management and prioritization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end trading operations support with timely trade confirmations.
  • Oversee trade matching and settlements across markets.
  • Collaborate with brokers and custodians on international trade settlements.
  • Review and resolve post-settlement discrepancies.
  • Investigate price challenges and monitor reconciliations.
  • Develop a zero-tolerance approach to trading errors and risks.
  • Manage fund-of-fund orders and settlements with third-party funds.
  • Research and validate corporate action events across markets.
  • Maintain security master setup and related data.

Job description

JOB OVERVIEW

This position is primarily responsible for Order Generation for Trading, Account Rebalancing, Corporate Actions, and Post Trade Support. This will generally involve close communication with Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Management Teams, Traders and Compliance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Provide daily trading operations support from end-to-end, to all Portfolio Management groups within CI, with timely trade confirmations and settlement of various asset classes, including: Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives
  • Oversee trade matching and settlements across all markets and where necessary escape issues to brokers, custodians and clients
  • Work with brokers and custodians globally on international trade settlement issues in several markets
  • Review and resolve post settlement discrepancies
  • Investigate and resolve both simple and complex price challenges
  • Monitor daily reconciliations between various internal and external systems
  • Develop a zero-tolerance attitude for trading and accounting errors, working tirelessly to reduce risks of errors and to quickly eradicate any that may arise.
  • Fund of Fund operations – ensure timely placement of orders with 3rd Party mutual funds as well as settlements between custodians and various fund companies
  • Proactively research and validate multiple corporate action events for multiple markets across a diverse range of portfolios
  • Manage collateral held at counterparty, brokers and custodians
  • Maintain team procedures and provide regular management reporting
  • Security master setup, maintenance
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • Bachelors’ degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of “middle office” experience in the industry, preferably in a similar position Completion of, or working towards a professional designation in the finance industry like the CFA, FRM,is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with Charles River Order Management systems
  • Experience with Collateral Management Systems, DTCC CTM/Alert, Clearpar and other market products for trade matching and settlements
  • Good understanding of Exchange and OTC derivative valuation in one or more asset classes
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Excellent communication and listening skills to understand business needs and translate those needs into workable solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to clearly identify key issues
  • Solid knowledge of the financial markets
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with time-sensitive deadlines
  • Effective time-management and ability learn, prioritize, and execute quickly

The anticipated base salary range for this position is$55,000 to $95,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a bonus program.
