  • The candidate should have a nose for ways to add value in terms of perspective, analysis or relevance, that takes reporting beyond that of a typical wire story

  • Responsibilities include both contributions to the daily news file and writing in-depth features and analysis.

  • Adding value that transcends the commodified news cycle and seeing beyond the Ottawa bubble are key.

Who you are:

  • Familiarity with the workings of the federal government.

  • An understanding of how to break stories using access to information, data-mining and social media.

  • An understanding of the editorial values of National Post.

  • Bilingualism is an asset.
