Job summary

Carmichael Engineering Ltd. in Mississauga is seeking a Plumbing Project Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for plumbing projects.

You will analyze project specs, drawings, and documents to determine scope, materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment, and prepare detailed proposals in line with company standards. This 100% on-site role requires plumbing industry experience, ability to read mechanical drawings, and collaboration with the Sales team to create competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Plumbing industry experience is required.
• Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings/RFPs.
• At least 2+ years of Estimation experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft suite and computer literacy.
• Diploma/degree in a Mechanical field is an asset.
• Has driver’s license with the ability to visit project sites in a limited capacity.

Responsibilities

• Read mechanical drawings or RFPs to gather detailed scope needed for estimates.
• Source materials and equipment pricing, contact subcontractors.
• Put together Estimates for Plumbing Projects (Labor, parts, materials, etc.).
• Work with the Sales Team to create proposals.
• Supports presentations for the Sales process.

Job Title: Plumbing Project Estimator

Work Location: 3151 Lenworth Drive, Mississauga, ON (Please note this is a 100% on-site position)

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Salary Range: $65,000-$80,000

The Plumbing Project Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for Plumbing projects. The estimator analyzes project specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine the scope, materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment required for the project. The estimator also communicates with clients, vendors, and internal staff to clarify project details, negotiate prices, and resolve issues. The estimator prepares detailed proposals and bid packages that reflect the project requirements and comply with company standards and industry best practices.
