Job summary

Beaulieu Plumbing and Mechanical in Edmundston is seeking a dynamic Plumbing and Heating Estimator to quantify labour and material costs, analyze plans, and prepare bids for a variety of commercial and residential projects. You will read blueprints, perform quantity take-offs, develop master format estimates, and communicate with engineers, owners, and subcontractors.

The role involves travel to project sites and ensuring estimates meet safety and code requirements.

Qualifications

• College degree in mechanical field or building/ civil engineering OR plumber certification/experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in the field is required.
• Knowledge of construction industry, building mechanics, and computers.
• Understand national plumbing code and safety codes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
• Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present clients.
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Prepare master format estimates (Class A).
• Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads.
• Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects.
• Project cash flow and financing requirements.
• Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms.
• Utilize quantity take-off procedures.
• Analyze tenders and recommend awards.
• Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Read and understand plans, specifications and addendums.
• Do take off as per plans, specifications, and addendums.
• Prepare final bid, as required and send project tenders to clients.
• Analyzing customer needs and keep in contact with all parties.

The company has more than 90 employees. It has been in existence since 1984 and continues to expand. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and resourceful person to fulfill the role of Plumbing and Heating Estimator.

Work Location: Same as above and various clients’ locations across Edmundston.

Type of Employment: Full-time – Permanent

Job Description:

Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs

Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present clients

Requirements

– Education: College degree or equivalent Degree in mechanical field or building engineering / civil engineering OR a plumber certification/experience.

– Experience: At least 2 years of experience in the field is required.

– Must have good knowledge of the construction industry, building mechanics, and computers.

– Must understand national plumbing code and other safety codes.

Salary: $36.56 hourly, 40 hours per week.
