Job summary

Minth Windsor Manufacturing is seeking a PLC Technician to install, program, and maintain PLC systems in our Windsor plant. You will diagnose hardware and software issues, perform preventive maintenance, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure safe, reliable automation.

The ideal candidate has a technical diploma, PLC experience in manufacturing, and familiarity with PLC platforms and industrial networks.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized technical diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, or Profibus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and PLC ladder logic programs.
  • Valid work authorization to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

About the Role:

As a PLC Technician in the durable goods manufacturing sector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) that control manufacturing equipment and processes. Your expertise will directly impact production efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing PLC systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to implement system upgrades and optimize automation processes. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying potential issues before they cause downtime, thereby supporting continuous manufacturing operations. Ultimately, your work will contribute to the reliability and advancement of manufacturing technology within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized technical diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, or Profibus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification from recognized bodies such as the International Society of Automation (ISA) or equivalent.
  • Experience with specific PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider Electric.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) programming.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations applicable to manufacturing automation.
  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
