Job summary

Hunter Bond is seeking a Platform Specialist to work in Montreal, Quebec. This dynamic global quant fund needs an expert to design, implement, and maintain systems that support trading strategies

The ideal candidate has profound Linux experience, development skills in Python or Rust, and familiarity with HPC environments. The role requires a collaborative spirit and the ability to work closely with SRE teams while being in the office 3 to 4 days a week.

• 2+ Years experience working deeply with Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong scripting or development ability in at least one language.

Role: Platform Specialist
Client: Trading Firm – Global collaborative firm run by passionate Computer Scientists
Salary: Up to $200,000 CAD
Location: Montreal, Quebec (3/4 days on site)

About the Role

My client is a dynamic global quant fund that is building cutting-edge systems from a beautiful office. In this position, you will design, implement, and oversee the maintenance of multiple robust platforms & tools whilst sitting within the SRE/DevOps team. You will be instrumental in ensuring the performance and reliability of systems that power complex trading strategies. (A full and detailed job spec is available)

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Engineering: Design and implement scalable, robust platforms and internal tools.
• Infrastructure Maintenance: Oversee the health and evolution of the firm's trading infrastructure.
• SRE/DevOps Integration: Work closely with the SRE team to automate workflows and improve system resilience.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune systems to meet the rigorous demands of a quant trading environment.

Successful Candidate Attributes
