Job summary

Baseten is seeking a platform engineer to design and ship the internal AI developer platform end-to-end, enabling engineers to build and deploy AI-enabled workflows with robust tooling and guardrails.

You will integrate third-party AI coding tools, create agent frameworks, and establish evaluation practices to guide investment decisions, while focusing on adoption, excellent docs, and scalable templates.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in building and enabling AI native SDLC.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Go, building daily-use tools.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and agent frameworks.
• Fluency with AI coding tools and opinions on their limitations.
• Platform mindset with focus on adoption and self-service.
• Experience with Dev tooling, CI/CD, Kubernetes/Docker.
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the internal AI developer platform end to end — architecture, build, rollout, operation, measurement.
• Evaluate and integrate third-party AI coding tools and build the context layer to work with our monorepo.
• Build frameworks that let engineers create agents without deep LLM expertise.
• Establish the evaluation practice for AI-assisted development and inform investments.
• Improve developer experience with defaults, docs, and low friction, enabling broad adoption.
• Integrate agents into CI/CD with guardrails and ensure safety, audits, and cost controls.
• Collaborate with teams to generalize wins into platform capabilities.
