Job summary

Greif is seeking a Plastic Technician in Belleville, Ontario. The role oversees complex production processes, ensures safety, and maintains quality across the line. You will lead a team, identify defects, and report issues to supervision, while training colleagues as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience and a proven ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all scopes of complex production process.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor.
• Ensures work area and equipment are clean and follow safety regulations.
• Solves complex problems with the production process and escalates when needed.
• Leads team and ensures understanding of production policies and procedures.
• Responsible for quality; identifies and prevents non-conforming products.
• May assist supervisor with performance and scheduling of colleagues.
• May train colleagues on the line.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Oversees all scopes of complex production process.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor.
• Ensures the work area and equipment are kept in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Solves complex problems with the production process, escalates to supervisor in the event of advanced/critical problems.
• Leads team and ensures they understand and follows all production policies, practices, and procedures.
• Responsible for the quality of work performed. Identify and document quality problems. Leads prevention of non-conforming products.
• May be responsible to assist supervisor in overseeing colleague performance and scheduling.
• May be responsible for training colleagues on the line.
• Follow safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

• Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 5 or more years of relevant experience.

Knowledge And Skills

• Demonstrated ability to read, understand and maintain records as required.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Thorough understanding of the production process.
• Ability to work well with a team.
• Ability to teach, coach, and develop others.

Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $27.16 - $46.20 annually. Typical a competitive wage for new hires will fall between32.24 to32.24 annually. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
