Our client, a leader in the Canadian food industry, is seeking a dynamic Plant Manager to lead a key production facility in Wetaskiwin, AB. In this role, you will be accountable for the overall performance of the plant, ensuring the production of a high-quality product while fostering a world-class culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• You will have full ownership of the facility's operational and financial results, including production costs, labour utilization, and capital planning. This is a chance to lead a dedicated, cross-functional team and make a tangible impact within a company known for its commitment to quality and sustainable practices.
• Lead and manage all aspects of plant operations, including Production, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Health & Safety.
• Champion a culture of Continuous Improvement, using Six Sigma, Lean, or other methodologies to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
• Develop, recommend, and execute the facility's annual operating and capital budgets, with full accountability for the plant's P&L and EBIT results.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of salaried and hourly employees, fostering a positive and productive employee relations environment.
• Ensure the facility operates in strict compliance with all regulatory guidelines, including Health & Safety, CFIA, and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including corporate partners and industry associations, to ensure alignment and achieve business objectives.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, Food Science, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record in a Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or similar role.
• Demonstrated success leading Continuous Improvement initiatives using methodologies like Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is required.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing a P&L or significant operational budget.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
• Proven decision-making ability and strong analytical skills.
