Job summary

Canadian Linen and Uniform Service in Toronto is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable operation of our machinery through preventive and corrective maintenance. The role involves collaborating with the maintenance team, performing mechanical tasks, and assisting with troubleshooting and repairs.

Candidates should have a college diploma or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or millwright trades and at least 2 years of relevant experience in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on engines, motors, conveyors, and production machines.
  • Operate power tools and machine shop equipment such as saws, drills, milling machines, and welders.
  • Dismantle machinery to replace parts and reassemble for testing.
  • Consult with supervisor or peers on higher complexity problems for guidance.
  • Identify problems by observing equipment in operation and using testing instruments.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to learn equipment and processes.

Job description

Job Description:
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing routine preventive and corrective maintenance requirements including cleaning and lubrication on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines
  • Work closely with current Maintenance team members to gain knowledge of our equipment
  • Perform simple troubleshooting of equipment and carries out all maintenance activities.
  • Operate power tools and machine shop machinery (saws, drills, milling machines, welders)
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • On problems with higher complexity, consults with supervisor and/or peer mechanics and getting guidance/ instructions from them, in order to fix problems.
  • Dismantle machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Re-assemble and test after repair.
Job Requirements:
  • College diploma, some college and/or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, millwright trades
  • 2+ years of experience in similar positions in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Compensation:

The hourly rate that Canadian Linen and Uniform Service reasonably expects to pay for this position is between $25.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
