Domtar's Skookumchuck, British Columbia plant seeks a General Manager to direct all mill activities, including health and safety, production, maintenance and compliance with environmental rules. The role requires 10 years in the pulp and paper industry, leadership skills and a focus on continuous improvement.

The GM will set objectives, manage budgets, develop training programs and ensure product quality while fostering employee engagement and adherence to collective agreements.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or management or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry.
• Master's or PhD in a specific discipline, an asset.
• Experience in maintenance is an asset.

Mansioni

• Direct, coordinate and ensure proper functioning of all mill activities including health and safety, production, maintenance, and environmental compliance.
• Set plant objectives in line with company strategies and follow up on them.
• Maintain a continuous improvement program to maximize performance against KPIs.
• Establish and maintain training and development programs for employees.
• Ensure application of collective labour agreements and supervise staff performance; maintain succession planning.
• Develop annual business and operating plans and review budgets for cost control.
• Ensure product quality meets customer needs and expectations.
• Support and apply company guidelines and procedures, with emphasis on safety and sustainability.
