Job summary

Elk Valley Resources is seeking a Maintenance Planner to support the mobile fleet across BC operations. You will develop detailed work plans aligned with maintenance strategies to improve efficiency and reliability of our fleet, including Komatsu, CAT and other OEMs.

The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to multitask, and collaboration with operations teams in a fast-paced mining environment in the Elk Valley.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson’s ticket, degree or diploma in mining or related field.
  • Experience in a mobile maintenance environment is a must.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with maintenance processes and other system software.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
  • Maintain job plans, task lists, work packages and maintenance strategies in the CMMS.
  • Manage work backlogs for accuracy, while considering requirements related to parts, labour, permits, drawings, facilities, support equipment, special equipment, tooling, and instructions.
  • Maintain an accurate forecast that adheres to established maintenance strategies.
  • Assist with monthly cost forecasting, annual budgeting, and cost analysis.
  • Work regularly with maintainers to build or improve detailed work packages.
  • Track and report Key Performance Indicators, bringing forward continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Commission and decommission equipment and manage their maintenance programs.

About the role:

Reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance Planning, the Planner, Maintenance is responsible for providing detailed work plans in line with maintenance strategies and mine requirements that improve the efficiency and performance of the Maintenance Department. To be successful, we are looking for someone with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. You would be self-motivated and can collaborate well with a team. The ability to multitask, prioritize contending demands and remain flexible and organized in a fast-paced environment is vital for success. With opportunities available across multiple EVR operations, this role offers the chance to work as part of an experienced mobile maintenance team on a dedicated fleet of equipment, including Komatsu, CAT and other leading OEMs. You'll work with a combination of well-established and evolving maintenance practices, modern equipment, and collaborate closely with operations and other site teams to support the safe and reliable performance of our mobile fleet. In this role you will:

Requirements:
  • Journeyperson’s ticket, Degree, or Diploma in a related subject area, or a combination of relevant education and experience in mining or heavy industry
  • Experience in a mobile maintenance environment is a Must
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite®, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Familiarity with the maintenance processes and other system software is an asse
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
Salary: $123,000 - $145,000 / year

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
