Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a motivated Piping Designer Co-Op to join our Piping Engineering team starting in January 2027 on a 12 month contract. The role offers hands-on experience on engineering and design projects, mentored by experienced engineers and designers.

You will assist with layouts, isometrics, 3D modelling, and documentation while adhering to CSA, ASME, and ISO codes. This opportunity is ideal for a student aiming to grow technical piping design skills in a real-world setting.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in college/university in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Coursework or exposure to piping design and drafting is an asset.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, Inventor, or similar CAD tools.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings and drafting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and modification of piping layouts and design drawings.
• Prepare piping plans, isometrics, and related design documentation.
• Assist with 3D piping modelling and equipment layout.
• Support the preparation of piping design deliverables per project requirements and codes.
• Review drawings and models for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with design calculations, material take-offs, and technical documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and coordination with other disciplines.
• Follow company procedures and update as-built documentation.
