Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Pipeline Project Manager to lead and execute small to medium-large pipeline projects in an EPCM environment. This role is well suited to someone with experience managing gathering systems, pipeline programs, and related pipeline facilities such as LACT units, meter stations, and pigging infrastructure. You will manage schedules, budgets, technical deliverables, client expectations, regulatory requirements, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage small to medium-large pipeline projects for upstream and midstream oil and gas clients
• Oversee engineering and design work for gathering systems, pipeline programs, and pipeline facilities
• Support the development, review, and approval of deliverables such as P&IDs, plot plans, line lists, isometrics, alignment sheets, DBMs, engineering assessments, material evaluations, and contract recommendations
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules using MS Project
• Prepare and manage project budgets, with a focus on cost effective delivery
• Ensure project work complies with CSA Z662, applicable pipeline regulations, safety requirements, and client standards
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams
• Identify and manage project risks related to scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety
• Maintain clear communication with clients, vendors, internal teams, and other stakeholders
• Mentor junior engineers and Engineers-in-Training
• Prepare and present regular project status updates to stakeholders and senior leadership
• Oversee or support hydraulic analysis of pipeline systems

Core Competencies

• Pipeline project management experience in an EPCM environment
• Knowledge of gathering systems, pipeline facilities, transportation systems, and auxiliary infrastructure
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, budgets, and schedules at the same time
Familiarity with CSA Z662 and applicable provincial pipeline and pressure piping regulations
• Strong understanding of project cost control, client requirements, and engineering deliverables
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Clear client communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to identify risks, solve problems, and keep projects moving
• Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, and Bluebeam Revu
• Organised, deadline driven, and comfortable working in a fast paced consulting environment

Education and Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience managing pipeline and/or facility projects in the oil and gas sector
• Previous EPCM experience is required
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
• P.Eng. designation in good standing with APEGA, EGBC, or an equivalent governing body is an asset
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
