Job summary

KLS Earthworks & Environmental is seeking an experienced Pipelayer to join our Calgary-based team, contributing to underground construction and ensuring safe, efficient pipeline installations. The role requires hands-on trenching, reading blueprints, operating pipe lasers and transit, and maintaining high safety standards on-site with Alberta OH&S guidelines.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years minimum as a pipelayer in underground construction.
• Thorough knowledge of pipe lasers and transit use (leveled, grade, proper working order).
• Ability to read blueprint and city specifications is required.
• Ability to read and understand Locates is required.
• Ability to dig trenches manually or with machinery as required.
• Familiarity with bucket operation techniques is advantageous.
• Strong commitment to safety practices in all aspects of work.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain underground pipelines per blueprints and safety codes.
• Conduct pressure tests and inspections to ensure integrity of installed systems.
• Cut pipes to required lengths.
• Check slopes for conformance using levels or lasers.
• Dig trenches to required depths by hand or with machinery.
• Carry out site foreman’s directives safely throughout daily operations.
• Install various sizes and materials of pipe.
• Work safely in deep trenches and around excavation equipment.
• Ensure compliance with Alberta OH&S guidelines and company safety policies.
