Job summary

TEEMA invites applications for a Pipefitter position in Delta, British Columbia. The candidate will operate at journeyman level, refitting and repairing piping systems in treatment plants and pumping stations, and will install new piping with steel, stainless steel, cast iron and PVC materials.

The role requires interpreting blueprints, maintaining safe practices, and guiding helpers on site. A valid watershed health certificate and BC driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 and a Trades Qualification certificate are required.
  • Ability to interpret plans and blueprints.
  • Ability to work in enclosed and often dirty (sewage) areas.
  • Provide own hand tools.
  • Health certificate for watershed entry and valid B.C. Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of pipefitting jobs at journeyman level, including refitting and repairs to sulphur, dioxide and chlorine systems and alterations to piping at treatment plants and pumping stations.
  • Measure, cut, thread and install steel, stainless steel, cast iron, PVC and other pipes; test on completion.
  • Directs work of assigned helpers.
  • Ensure safe working practices at job sites.
  • Plan work methods and procedures per job requirements.
  • Troubleshoot existing piping systems.

What you will be doing:
  • Perform a variety of pipefitting jobs at the Journeyman-level,-such as: refitting and repairs to sulphur, dioxide and chlorine systems, alterations to existing piping systems and installation of new ones at treatment plants, pumping stations, etc.

  • Directs work of assigned helpers.
  • Insures that safe working practices are adhered to at job sites.
  • Plans work methods and procedures following job requirements.
  • Trouble shoots existing piping systems.
What you must have:
  • Grade 12, plus Trades Qualification certificate. Ability to interpret plans and blueprints.

Salary/Rate Range: $35.00 – $47.12
