Pipe Mill Inspector – SK, Canada

Intertek is searching for a Pipe Mill Inspector to join the Technical Inspection Services team in SK.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in project meetings as needed.
  • Supervise inspectors on a day‑to‑day basis to ensure effective utilization and timely verification of the project quality objectives.
  • Coordinate the flow of information between the inspectors and other parties including client, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors as appropriate.
  • Witness testing, perform verifications, and monitor project activities.
  • Conduct facility walk‑throughs and report on findings.
  • Review surveillance reports and request technical assistance if specific quality problems are indicated.
  • Assess or audit contractor, subcontractor, and vendor activities to ensure effective execution of the quality assurance programmes and plans.
  • Coordinate surveillance plans and assist Client in scheduling the appropriate engineering specialists to ensure their participation where necessary to achieve the desired level of quality.
  • Assist in the development of Client surveillance and inspection staff to monitor implementation of the contractor’s quality assurance program and plan.
  • Compile information relating to contractor, subcontractor, or vendor quality that can be used to support changes in their programmes, plans, and procedures.
  • Report the status of the contractors, subcontractors, or vendors overall quality assurance programme to Client and its effectiveness on the project.
  • Provide coordination effort and assistance as requested by Client.
  • Prepare and issue inspection reports.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • At least eight (8) years of experience with pipe‑related quality assurance systems.
  • Familiarity with national codes, standards, specifications, drawings and data sheets related to multi‑discipline construction and pipe projects.
  • High school diploma, GED, or higher education.
  • Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with email and internet communication systems.
  • Ability to work well with others, multi‑task, and be detail oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid industry certifications such as AWS CWI, CWB Level 2, API 510/570/590, SI, ASNT, CGSB NDT Level II/III, NACE Level 1/2/3.
