Job summary

Humber River Health in Toronto seeks a Registered Physiotherapist (Temporary Part-time) to provide comprehensive assessments and evidence-based treatments across acute and post-acute care settings at Wilson Site, with occasional cross-site coverage at Reactivation Care Centres. Rotating shifts include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Current CPTO registration and CPA eligibility are required; experience in acute care is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Eligibility for CPA membership.
  • Experience in acute care is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, oral and written.
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Positive attendance record.
  • Availability to work weeks and weekends is an asset for casual position.
  • Understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessment and evidence-based treatment for referred patients in medical, surgical, and specialty units within the acute care setting and post-acute care settings.
  • Deliver cross-coverage services, ensuring appropriate assessment and intervention for patients in medical, surgical, and specialty units and post-acute.
  • Prioritize and manage patient caseload effectively to meet clinical needs and organizational goals.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, progress, and discharge plans in accordance with professional standards.
  • Record workload measurement data in a timely and precise manner.
  • Collaborate as an integral member of the interdisciplinary health care team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in caseload management and program assignments to support departmental needs.
  • Manage patient care efficiently within fast-paced acute care and post-acute environments.
  • Provide clinical supervision to Rehabilitation Assistants in alignment with Ontario College of Physiotherapists’ support personnel standards.
  • Participate in clinical teaching and supervision of Physiotherapy students.

Reporting Relationship: Manager of Allied Health

Hourly Rate Range: $40.36 – $56.30

Location: Wilson Site. Occasional cross‑site coverage at the Reactivation Care Centres (Finch & Church sites) may be required.

Hours of work: Available to work rotating shifts (Monday to Friday, Weekends & Statutory Holidays)

  • Availability to work during both the week and weekend is an asset for the Casual position.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline‑free record required.
