Job summary

ParaMed is seeking a Pediatric Physiotherapist to provide in-home community visits across Ontario, including London. You will assess children, work with multidisciplinary teams, and coordinate equipment and services to support functional participation.

Casual or part-time opportunities are available, with a focus on client-centered care and compliance with professional standards. Qualified candidates must be licensed with the provincial College, with new graduates welcome and ADP authorization

Qualifications

  • Registration with the provincial College of Physiotherapists in good standing.
  • New graduates are welcomed for this role.
  • ADP authorization is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support pediatric clients.
  • Assess function and engagement considering physical, social, and environmental factors.
  • Develop client-centered plans and adjust services accordingly.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving and clinical judgement to meet client needs.
  • Engage clients with a collaborative approach to establish mutual understanding of services.
  • Maintain clinical documentation per ParaMed policies and regulatory standards.
  • Keep professional knowledge up-to-date to ensure safe, effective care.

Job Description

In this role of Pediatric Physiotherapist, you will provide community visits to assess abilities and needs of children while working with multidisciplinary teams and equipment vendors to facilitate function. Client groups receiving treatment include pediatric care for in home or school services for children with medical/health concerns. Casual or part-time opportunity available.

What you’ll do:
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of healthcare workers and other community resources
  • Analyze physical, cultural, social and institutional environmental impact on occupational performance and engagement issues
  • Develop client centered plans with client, inter-professional teams and adjust services to reflect a client centered approach related to physical, social, cultural, institutional, and economic environment
  • Demonstrate effective and evidence-based problem solving and judgement to address client needs
  • Engage clients using a collaborative approach, building rapport and trust, achieving a mutual understanding and agreement related to services to be provided.
  • Maintain the knowledge, skills and attitudes to provide safe, efficient, effective service in all areas of practice by keeping abreast of changes in practice setting that affect scope of practice
  • Maintain professional client records related to client encounters and plans in compliance with ParaMed’s policies and the standards applied by the regulatory body or Occupational Therapy college.
What you bring:
  • Registration with the provincial College of Physiotherapists (in good standing)
  • Accepting New Graduates
  • Licensed ADP authorization considered an asset
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of applicable community resources available for clients and families
  • Current certification (within the past 12 months) of First Aid and CPR
  • A valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle
  • Able to provide a current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) Pediatrics experience considered an asset.
