Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority is seeking a Community Physiotherapist to deliver physiotherapy services to referred clients in the community setting. You will consult with caregivers and educate clients, caregivers, and staff on rehabilitation interventions.

Under the Manager's direction, you will join a multi-disciplinary team, with emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement in care delivery.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized university program in Physiotherapy.
  • Current licensure in a practising category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Physiotherapist.
  • Eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA).
  • Knowledge of current Physical Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice.
  • Two (2) years' post graduate experience in physiotherapy.
  • Community experience preferred.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physiotherapy services to referred clients in a community setting under the supervision of the Manager and as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team.
  • Consult with caregivers and educate clients, caregivers, staff and the community on rehabilitation interventions.

Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Working without general supervision under the administrative direction of the Manager and as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team delivering care in the community setting, the Community Physiotherapist provides physiotherapy services to referred clients; consultation for caregivers; and educates clients, caregivers, staff and the community on rehabilitation interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience

Graduation from a recognized university program in Physiotherapy. Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Physiotherapist.
