Job description

Seeking an OBGYN Physician Assistant to performsdiagnostic and therapeutic tests and performs various medical services asdirected by the physician in charge.

Compensation: $55 - $68 Per Hour

Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient’s medical historyand performs initial or periodic physical examinations.
  • Order lab tests and routine anddiagnostic procedures required for complete evaluation of patient’scondition.
  • Make an assessment of patient’scondition, or suggests a differential diagnosis, based on patient’s chart,results of tests, physical exam and other established medical policies andprocedures. Suggest appropriate treatment of patient and assists inthe management of the patient.
  • Prescribe mediation, orderroutine fluids, diets and similar patient care orders. (Orders mustbe countersigned by physician).
  • Perform laboratory procedures orprocedures to implement the diagnostic assessment and management planincluding; drawing blood specimen for testing, blood counts, urinalysis,bacteriologic smears, stains and culture pulmonary function tests,catherizations, starting IV solutions and administering IN medications andother routine procedures for which he has received specific supervisedtraining and evaluation.
  • Perform minor surgical proceduresincluding routing suturing of lacerations, skin biopsies, incision anddrainage of superficial abscess, removal of minor skin liaisons, applyingand removing casts and traction apparatus.

· Assist in the management of medical and surgical emergencies; cardiopulmonary resuscitation,

Education
  • BS Degree in accredited PhysicianAssistant Program.
  • Minimum three (3) yearsexperience for Senior Physician Assistant (not automatic upon hireor upon attainment of 3 years of service)
  • Licensed and currently registeredas a Physician Assistant in New York State.
