Stripe, Inc. is seeking a data science intern in Canada to work on projects across the analytics stack.

You will own problems end to end with mentor support, collaborating with teams to extract insights from complex data and to build metrics, dashboards, and reports that inform business decisions. You’ll work with leading data scientists to develop predictive models and time-series analyses, applying statistical methods and causal inference designs to real-world problems.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a quantitative PhD program with expected graduation Dec 2027 or spring/summer 2028.
• Experience with SQL and a scientific computing language (Python or R).
• Proficiency with AI tools to accelerate model development, analysis, and coding.
• Experience communicating and collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders in a team environment.
• Preferred: experience writing and debugging data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Apply probability distributions, statistical inference, and hypothesis testing to quantify uncertainty and outcomes.
• Use Python or R for data analysis, processing, visualizations, modeling, ML, and experiments.
• Build, train, and evaluate predictive models for regression/classification tasks.
• Model temporal dependencies and time-series trends for predictions.
• Identify patterns and clusters in unlabeled data.
• Deploy models in production and adjust thresholds to improve performance.
• Design, run, and analyze complex experiments with causal inference designs.
• Use SQL and Spark to create and analyze large datasets.
• Learn quickly, ask great questions, and communicate status clearly.
• Present work to Data Science and partner teams.
