Job summary

Autodesk, Inc. in Canada invites a PhD Research intern to join Autodesk Research’s AI Lab, focusing on machine learning and generative methods for content creation in media and entertainment. You will explore character animation, controllable motion, and data-efficient learning with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers.

The Canada PhD Research Program runs 18 weeks (May 24–Oct 1, 2027). Internships are paid, with mentorship, tech talks, and opportunities to publish in top venues

Qualifications

  • Full-time PhD student in CS/Graphics/ML or related field.
  • Broad understanding of machine learning and deep learning.
  • Excellent programming in Python and software development skills.
  • Experience conducting research and publishing results.
  • Excellent communicator and team player.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on ML methods for character animation in media/entertainment.
  • Formulate research questions, literature reviews, and design experiments.
  • Build prototypes to test concepts and ideas.
  • Evaluate findings and recommend implications for products.
  • Author a full research paper and present results.
