Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart Inc. in Brooks, Alberta is seeking a licensed Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing prescriptions and pharmacy operations.

You will assist in providing timely, customer-focused service and work under the supervision of a pharmacist to ensure accuracy and safety. Responsibilities include data entry, third-party adjudication, counseling referrals, and maintaining confidential records while supporting a smooth prescription workflow.

Qualifications

• Registered with the corresponding provincial licensing college.
• Diploma from a Pharmacy Technician College.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and gather prescription information according to Standards.
• Accurately dispense prescription medications.
• Refer to the pharmacist all clinical inquiries.
• Adjudicate third party billing where required and manage third-party accounts.
• Answer telephone and refer to a pharmacist when necessary.
• Maintain and control the cash register in the dispensary.
• Assist in prescription preparation and data entry for new prescriptions and refills.
• Select medications to fill prescriptions according to Pharmacy Standards of Practice.
• Package, label and properly document prescribed medications.
