Department : Pharmacy In-Patient

Reports to : Manager

Wage Range : $32.32 to $37.26 per hour (start rate is non‑negotiable)

Hours : 37.5 Hours per Week

Shifts : Mon‑Fri Days Evenings Weekends Statutory Holidays On Call

Status : Temporary Full‑Time (12 month contract)

Closing Date : November 6 2025

Position Summary

As an integral member of the Pharmacy Services Inpatient Operations Team the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the following :

Duties
  • Independently performing all technical aspects of prescription preparation including compounding and dispensing responsibilities as per master worksheets
  • Replenishing stock medication supplies for assigned areas
  • Ensuring patient information is updated and maintained in the pharmacy computer system
  • Completing all required reports and documentation
  • Attending participating and assisting in staff and patient training / educational functions
  • Performing workload measurement support functions
  • Performing cross‑functional and / other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned or requested
Qualifications
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent required
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists required
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies / machinery
  • Two years practical and related experience preferred
  • Previous hospital experience with unit dose system and intravenous admixture service preferred
