Job summary

Halton Healthcare in Oakville, Ontario is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the OT Drug Processing & Distribution team. The role covers automated unit dose drug distribution, restocking Omnicell units, dispensing and compounding patient prescriptions, and managing narcotic and controlled substances.

You must have a college-level Pharmacy Assistant or Technician program, be registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, hospital experience with unit dose and automation, and strong

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized college level Pharmacy Assistant or Technician Program required.
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
  • Previous hospital experience with unit dose and/or automated drug distribution system and intravenous admixture service required.
  • Previous experience with Best Possible Medication History preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for technical tasks within the automated unit dose drug distribution system including restocking of Omnicell automated dispensing units, dispensing and compounding of patient specific prescription, distribution and control of narcotic and controlled drugs and other inventory management tasks.
  • Responsible for the operation of select Pharmacy Automation systems
  • Prepackaging of unit doses and preparation of sterile pharmaceutical products.

Job Description

Additional Information

Hours:Monday - Sunday; Various rotating; 7.5 hour shifts. Hours are subject to change based on operational needs.

Salary: $32.781 to $39.642 per hour
