Job summary

The Jean Coutu Group in Quebec is seeking a friendly Pharmacy Assistant to welcome clients, identify their prescription needs, and help prepare prescriptions. You will assist in maintaining a tidy laboratory and may prepare pillboxes for some customers.

A DEP in Pharmacy Technical Assistance is a strong asset, and full paid training is offered. Expect 35 hours a week or more in a collaborative, client‑focused environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be courteous and patient when greeting clients.
• Ability to identify client needs and collect necessary data for prescriptions.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Be the first contact with the clientele, create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Identify needs by collecting data for prescriptions and prepare them.
• Prepare prescriptions and detect potential issues for clients.
• For some patients, prepare pillboxes.
• Maintain laboratory hygiene and organization for smooth operation.

Job description

Within your team, your essential role will be:

• Be the first contact with the clientele, so that they feel at ease; your welcome, your empathy and your professionalism will be put to good use;
• Identify the needs of the clientele by collecting the necessary data for the preparation of prescriptions;
• Prepare prescriptions and detect potential problems for the clientele;
• For some PJC, prepare pillboxes;
• Ensure the hygiene and tidiness of the laboratory in order to facilitate its proper functioning.

To hold this position, it is possible:

• Holding a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) as a Pharmacy Technical Assistance is a strong asset
