Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart Inc. in Kamloops, BC is looking for a part-time Pharmacist to ensure prescription accuracy, provide counseling on medications, and assist customers with OTC guidance in a fast-paced retail pharmacy.

You will collaborate with the Pharmacy Technician/Assistant to dispense medications accurately. A Bachelor of Pharmacy and provincial licensure are required, with strong English communication and, where applicable, French.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Pharmacy required and licensure to practice in the province.
• Superior interpersonal skills essential.
• Strong verbal and written English; French helpful in some areas.

Responsibilities

• Check prescriptions for accuracy.
• Counsel on prescription medications.
• Provide OTC counseling to customers.
• Health management counseling and guidance.
• Participate in SDM programs as required by the business.
• Collaborate with Pharmacy Technician/Assistant to dispense medications accurately.

What you’ll do:

• Checking prescriptions for accuracy
• Counseling on prescription medications
• OTC counseling
• Health management consulting
• Participation in SDM programs including cognitive/enhanced services as these programs may evolve over time and as required by the business
• Collaboration with the Pharmacy Technician / Assistant to accurately dispense prescription medications

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor of Pharmacy
• License to practice in the province seeking employment
• Superior interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal and written English (French in some areas) communication skills
