Job summary

Cencora is seeking a Pharmacy Program Team Lead in Canada to oversee prescription workflows, mentor staff, and collaborate across departments. You will ensure timely processing, accurate data handling, and strong cross-team coordination within a support-oriented pharmacy operations environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in specialty pharmacy operations or related healthcare operations.
  • Management experience with preference for <2 years in a managerial role.
  • Certification in pharmacy technician support or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate prescription workflow to meet daily deadlines.
  • Ensure equitable workload sharing among associates across teams.
  • Coach and mentor team members.
  • Assist onboarding and cross-training of new hires.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy associates to achieve results.
  • Monitor outgoing shipments for timely delivery.
  • Consult with Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacists and program management.
  • Resolve operational and customer issues with a solution-based approach.
  • Maintain QA documentation and CAPAs.
  • Enter prescriptions and correct data in the system.
  • Oversee inventory management practices.
  • Prepare and review claims and audits promptly.
  • Communicate with accounting for AR and benefits.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate prescription workflow and related activities to meet daily deadlines;
  • Ensure workload is shared equitably among associates, including those in other teams;
  • Coach and mentor their team members;
  • Actively contribute to the successful on-boarding of new hires and cross-training of existing associates;
  • Collaborate with other pharmacy associates to achieve desired results;
  • Ensure team monitors outgoing shipments to ensure delivery occurred within desired time frame;
  • Consult regularly with Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacists and other pharmacy program management;
  • Resolve or elevate operational and customer issues through a solution-based approach;
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and documentation on, the drugs/programs assigned to their team;
  • Maintain working knowledge of the drugs/programs assigned to other teams;
  • Able to disseminate knowledge and information efficiently to their team;
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for their program portfolio;
  • Work collaboratively with other Innomar business units and ABSG Patient Programs (including Health Forward) in fulfilling pharmacy responsibilities in program development and execution;
  • Participation in and representation of pharmacy at interdepartmental meetings;
  • Prepare/review and process manual claims and audits in a timely manner;
  • Liaise with the pharmacy Accountant to manage accounts receivable, assignment of benefits, and related documentation;
  • Enter prescriptions into the computer; retrieve and/or correct data in computer;
  • Assist team in completion of day-to-day activities to meet Program deadlines;
  • Screen calls and gather relevant information for Pharmacist;
  • Oversee inventory management practices;
  • Ensure timely completion of routine administrative tasks;
  • Understand pharmacy performance metrics;
  • Review and analyze reports, invoices or other financial documentation;
  • Prepare, review and/or maintain Quality Assurance documentation, including CAPAs;
  • Report Adverse Events in accordance with provincial regulatory standards and, where applicable, internal and contractual obligations
  • Fulfill any other duties within their scope of practice as outlined in the Job Description relevant to that designation;
  • The Pharmacy Program Team Lead will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required from time to time;
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, life sciences, pharmacy technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience required.

3+ years of experience in specialty pharmacy operations, pharmacy support, medication access, reimbursement, fulfillment, or a related healthcare operations environment required.

Less than 2 years of experience in a management capacity preferred.

Certification in pharmacy technician support, pharmacy operations support, or equivalent preferred.
