A closed-door pharmacy in Oshawa, Canada, is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to oversee pharmacy operations and ensure exceptional patient care. Qualifications

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Manager to oversee the operations of a closed-door pharmacy that focuses on providing specialty pharmaceutical products, high-cost drugs, and patient-centric tailored services. This location is NOT open to the public. Patient counselling is generally conducted using virtual platforms. This full-time, permanent, Monday-to-Friday, days-based position offers a lucrative compensation package.

Position Description

This role offers a Monday to Friday, daytime-hours schedule. You will be the designated manager for this remote dispensary. In this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to, the following :

  • Interacting with patients, healthcare professionals and other staff to offer expert advice, address inquiries and ensure exceptional customer service to patients who require accessibility to high-cost drugs, medications that may not be readily accessible, or complex specialty medications
  • Monitoring the Cold-Chain pharmaceutical operations. Troubleshooting any discrepancies and compiling corrective action plans
  • Collaborating with physicians and healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy and monitoring of potential drug interactions
  • Overseeing quality assurance to ensure adherence to established pharmacy protocols, quality control standards and regulatory requirements to ensure the highest level of patient safety and service
  • Online / over-the-phone medication counseling when required
  • Managing a small team; coaching, mentoring and providing direction
  • Dealing with escalated issues

Experience
  • 3+ years’ experience as a practicing pharmacist
  • Experience as a Pharmacy Manager or Supervisor a strong asset
Qualifications
  • A valid license as a Pharmacist in good standing with the college of Pharmacy in Ontario
  • Must be a Part A licensed pharmacist
Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPhm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • A licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacy
