Job summary

Your Independent Grocer in Canada is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant to greet patients, ensure accuracy of prescription information and assist with data entry. The role includes dispensing medications, inventory control, and handling OTC inquiries with pharmacist support when needed.

This unionized position offers a dynamic environment in a Loblaw banner store with opportunities for training, benefits, and a range of hours including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant is an asset.

In this exciting role you will be responsible for:

• Patient greeting and confirmation of accuracy of all pertinent prescription information prior to filling
• Data entry of patient care information
• Third Party adjudication (if necessary)
• Accurate dispensing prescription medications
• Maintenance of pharmacy stock through inventory control systems
• General OTC enquiries from patients and referral to Pharmacist where required and necessary
• Handling customer prescription pick up
