Job summary

CareRx is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant (Training Provided) for a 12-month contract at our Calgary pharmacy. The role supports Pharmacists and Technicians with medication preparation, packaging and documentation.

On-site position in Calgary, AB; training provided; requires certification or experience; the job includes on-call weekends and eligibility for background checks as part of our process.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy calculations.
• Visual acuity, numeracy, detail oriented, manual dexterity for handling strip packs, prescription bottles and labels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring accurate documentation of completed work as per policies and procedures.
• Preparing prescriptions (gathering data from nursing staff) to be filled via dispensary software.
• Processing, adjudicating, dispensing, and filling prescriptions via Pacmed automation.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Maintaining strict confidentiality and ethical standards.
