Job summary

Sobeys Inc. in Canada is seeking a licensed pharmacist to join our national pharmacy team across banners such as Sobeys, Safeway, and FreshCo.

You will focus on patient-centered care, safe medication practices, and collaborative care with technicians. Requirements include a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, a valid pharmacist license in good standing, injection and first aid certification, and at least two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
• Licensed Pharmacist, in good standing, in the province of responsibility.
• Injection and First Aid certified.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a licensed pharmacist.
• Kroll software experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of Relief Pharmacists and focus on patient-centered care, customer service, workflow efficiencies, and professional clinical services.
• Inspire a positive, patient-focused culture and KPI improvements across locations.
• Prioritize patient safety and support technicians and assistants as required.
• Initiate care plans, follow up, and document appropriately.
• Identify drug-related problems via medication reviews and provide counselling.
• Keep current on regulatory requirements and company programs; participate in training.
• Oversee onboarding, training, and performance management of team members.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

• Work within an assigned territory and supervise a team of Relief Pharmacists while focusing on achieving excellence in the areas of patient-centered care, customer service, workflow efficiencies, and professional clinical services (disease state management, medication reviews and adherence, health risk assessments, injections/vaccines etc.)
• Inspire a positive, patient-focused culture and ongoing customer experience KPI enhancements
• Act in the patient’s best interest to implement and support patient-centered care through professional scope of practice and team delivery of company programs to drive patient experience
• Actively engage in all areas of Fusion to ensure the patient experiences seamless care and a consistent pharmacy experience across locations
• Participate in professional programs and collaborate with colleagues to provide excellence in health & wellness services to all patients
• Ensure prescription safety prioritizing technical functions to Pharmacy Registered Technicians and Assistants as required
• Initiate care plans, follow up, and completes proper documentation
• Identify actual and potential drug related problems through completion of medication reviews
• Provide patient counselling and education for new therapy to patients/caregivers while tailoring to the needs and concerns of the patient (i.e., literacy, hearing loss, privacy, etc.)
• Thoroughly understand all relevant corporate pharmacy service offerings/ programs, and provide each customer/patient with the program that meets their health care needs
• Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy practice, regulatory requirements, and industry trends/developments; attend training as required
• Manage the selection, onboarding, training and development, and performance management processes
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements, Company policies, processes, and procedures (e.g., OHS, Loss Prevention, CQI); responsible to train all direct reports and ensure adherence
