Job summary

Sobeys Inc. is hiring a licensed pharmacist to lead a pharmacy team and ensure high-quality patient-centered care. The role includes supervising Relief Pharmacists, delivering patient counselling, and maintaining safety and regulatory compliance across locations.

Ideal candidates hold a PharmD/BSc in Pharmacy, current licensure in the applicable province, and have at least 2 years of pharmacist experience. Injection/First Aid certification is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
• Licensed Pharmacist in good standing in the province of responsibility.
• Injection and First Aid certification.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a licensed pharmacist.
• Kroll software experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of Relief Pharmacists while focusing on patient-centered care and workflow efficiency.
• Provide patient counselling and education for new therapies.
• Ensure prescription safety and oversee technical functions by Pharmacy Staff.
• Develop care plans, perform medication reviews and document actions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy practice, regulations and trends.

Here’s where you’ll have an impact:

• Work within an assigned territory and supervise a team of Relief Pharmacists while focusing on achieving excellence in the areas of patient-centered care, customer service, workflow efficiencies, and professional clinical services (disease state management, medication reviews and adherence, health risk assessments, injections/vaccines etc.)
• Inspire a positive, patient-focused culture and ongoing customer experience KPI enhancements
• Act in the patient’s best interest to implement and support patient-centered care through professional scope of practice and team delivery of company programs to drive patient experience
• Actively engage in all areas of Fusion to ensure the patient experiences seamless care and a consistent pharmacy experience across locations
• Participate in professional programs and collaborate with colleagues to provide excellence in health & wellness services to all patients
• Ensure prescription safety prioritizing technical functions to Pharmacy Registered Technicians and Assistants as required
• Initiate care plans, follow up, and complete proper documentation
• Identify actual and potential drug related problems through completion of medication reviews
• Provide patient counselling and education for new therapy to patients/caregivers while tailoring to the needs and concerns of the patient (i.e., literacy, hearing loss, privacy, etc.)
• Thoroughly understand all relevant corporate pharmacy service offerings/ programs, and provide each customer/patient with the program that meets their health care needs
• Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy practice, regulatory requirements, and industry trends/developments; attend training as required
• Manage the selection, onboarding, training and development, and performance management processes
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements, Company policies, processes, and procedures (e.g., OHS, Loss Prevention, CQI); responsible to train all direct reports and ensure adherence

What you bring to the table:

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized institution
• Must be a Licensed Pharmacist, in good standing, in the province of responsibility
• Injection and First Aid certified
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a licensed pharmacist
• Kroll software experience is preferred
