Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support accuracy in dispensing and patient care in our community pharmacies across Canada. You will greet patients, enter data, handle third-party adjudication and assist the Pharmacist with prescription processing, stock maintenance, and OTC inquiries.

The role requires strong organizational and customer service skills, proficient computer/data entry abilities, and flexibility to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, nights

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant is an asset
• Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation
• Strong communication skills
• Demonstrated customer service experience
• Proficient computer/data/entry skills
• Flexibility to work a variety of hours which may include days, evenings, night shifts and weekends

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and confirm accuracy of prescription information prior to filling
• Data entry of patient care information
• Third party adjudication (if necessary)
• Accurate dispensing prescription medications
• Maintenance of pharmacy stock through inventory control systems
• General OTC enquiries from patients and referral to Pharmacist where required and necessary
• Handling customer prescription pick up
