Job summary

Ocean State Job Lot is seeking a pharmacy support associate to assist with processing, pricing and selling prescriptions to patients at the counter. You will retrieve prescriptions, process transactions and help patients with routine questions in a courteous manner.

Responsibilities include stocking drugs and OTC items, maintaining department cleanliness, and following safety procedures while upholding patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: Employees with pharmacy experience will be given preference over other candidates.

Daily tasks and responsibilities

• Assists patients at counter, and retrieves filled prescriptions. Processes register transactions, receive payment, make change, processes cheques, credit and debit charges. Provides prompt and courteous patient service. Answers phones, directs patients to product location. Preserves patient confidentiality.
• Follows safety and security procedures.
• Orders, receives, tags and stocks prescription drugs and supplies. Follows product storage procedures and standards.
• Orders, receives, tags and stocks over-the-counter product in accordance with merchandising plan for department. Creates product signs.
• Cleans department by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping and dusting. Empties trash, operates trash compactor and cardboard bailer.

Non-Essential Functions and Tasks

• Assists in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.

Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry-specific skills that candidates must possess)
