SUMMARY:
Manage the operations of the Pharmacy during your shift, including providing consultations to customers and healthcare providers, practicing to the full scope of professional services, dispensing medication, and assisting in maintaining the dispensary.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pharmacy and Customer Service
Acknowledge all customers approaching the Pharmacy
Operate within federal/provincial, regulatory, and legal requirements
Ensure privacy requirements are met, including customer confidentiality and consent management
Provide counselling on prescriptions and over-the-counter products
Practice to the full extent of your professional scope, including professional services, within your capabilities
Be clearly identifiable to the public
Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of all dispensed prescriptions
Communicate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate customer care
Maintain records in accordance with legislation, standards, and policies
Workflow and Inventory Management:
Control access to the dispensary respecting inventory and patient confidentiality
Review and maintain workflow queues daily
Regularly review 'will call' bins per SOPs
Identify expired inventory during stock reviews
Oversee stock levels and medication orders from wholesalers
Ensure compliance with documentation and control of controlled substances, including reporting to Health Canada and regulatory bodies
Operations:
Maintain an appropriate image at entry/pickup stations, counselling areas, and workstations
Participate in financial reporting as appropriate
Respond to store communications via the in-store web
File incident reports for medication or privacy incidents involving customers or staff
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to think independently and make decisions
Plan, coordinate, delegate, and coach pharmacy colleagues
Proven ability to drive business growth, lead by example, and support enterprise initiatives
Commitment to exceptional customer service
Strong customer relations skills and professionalism
Effective problem-solving skills with experience in action planning
Personal computing skills and knowledge of pharmacy systems are assets
Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment
Complete mandatory training and ongoing education as needed
