Job summary

Interior Health seeks an experienced Pharmacist to join the Penticton Regional Hospital Pharmacy Team in Penticton, BC. The casual position involves interpreting orders, ensuring accurate dispensing, and collaborating with healthcare professionals and patients to optimize therapy.

Qualifications

  • Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
  • Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret medication orders and prescriptions and assess therapeutic suitability.
  • Ensure medications are dispensed, compounded, and labeled accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicate with healthcare professionals and patients to resolve prescription issues and provide medication-use instructions.
  • Participate in medication-use evaluations, safety initiatives, quality control activities, and clinical drug trials.
  • Ensure all activities comply with legal, professional, and departmental standards.

About the Job

Pharmacists are at the forefront of healthcare, providing essential pharmacy services. Duties include interpreting medication orders and prescriptions, assessing therapeutic suitability, and ensuring medications are efficiently and accurately dispensed, compounded, and labeled.

You will communicate with healthcare professionals and patients to resolve prescription issues, offer instructions on medication use, and participate in medication use evaluations, safety initiatives, quality control activities, and clinical drug trials. You will also ensure all activities comply with legal, professional, and departmental standards.

This is a Casual opportunity

Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.

Qualfications
