Postdoctoral Opportunity – Vaccine Development

Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences, Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM), University of Saskatchewan

The Costa Lab at the University of Saskatchewan is seeking a proactive, curious Post-doctoral Fellow to lead studies on maternal and early life nutrition impact on swine immune imprint and health. Join a team translating cutting-edge research into real-world impact on animal health.

Project Description

This role focuses on the design, execution, and regulatory documentation of CFIA/USDA-compliant studies on the role of a novel dietary compound on sow immune imprint and piglet gut and general health. The successful candidate will manage animal, field and lab-based experiments, analyze data, and contribute to both scientific publications and regulatory dossiers.

Required Qualifications

Degree in veterinary medicine (DVM, BSVM, DMV, or international equivalent)

PhD in swine nutrition, infectious diseases, immunology, or related field

Experience with veterinary microbiology/pathology is an asset

Hands-on experience with pigs!

Strong data analysis, writing, and communication skills

Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams, inside and outside academia
