Pleasant Meadow Manor is seeking FULL TIME, Personal Support Workers (PSW) to join their team.

We are currently conducting a talent pool for the role of Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our team at Pleasant Meadow Manor in Norwood, Ontario. This position reports directly to the registered staff member responsible for the shift and operates under the supervision of the Director of Care. The PSW plays a vital role in supporting residents by assisting with personal care, grooming, meal service, and daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and overall well-being.

Job Duties

Responsibilities

Personal Care Support
  • Assist with bathing (bed bath, tub, or shower).
  • Support with grooming (hair care, nail care, shaving, dressing).
  • Assist with toileting, including supervision, cueing, and incontinence care based on individual plans of care.
Nutritional Support
  • Assist with meal service (delivery, setup, and cleanup).
  • Ensure correct therapeutic diets and textures are provided at all meals.
  • Monitor and assist with nutritional intake (supervision, encouragement, or full assistance).
  • Document daily food and fluid intake as per policy.
  • Report any changes in eating habits or diet tolerance to registered staff.
Environmental and Housekeeping Duties
  • Make beds and change bed linens.
  • Collect, bag, and transport soiled laundry.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized resident rooms and common areas.
  • Clean and disinfect instruments and equipment as directed.
Resident Safety and Monitoring
  • Respond promptly to call bells and door alarms.
  • Collect specimens as required.
  • Observe and report changes in resident condition to registered staff.
Rehabilitative and Recreational Support
  • Assist with nursing restorative and rehabilitative care programs as directed.
  • Support and participate in recreational and activity programs tailored to residents’ needs.
Documentation and Communication
  • Complete daily RAI-MDS documentation as directed.
  • Communicate relevant information to the RAI Coordinator and registered staff.
  • Deliver individualized care based on the assessed needs and plan of care.
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of an approved Personal Support Worker program that is a minimum of 600 hours in duration, including both classroom time and practical experience time.

The Personal Support Worker program must meet the training standard published by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, dated July/October 2014. Proof of graduation issued by the education provider is required, OR

  • A registered nurse or registered practical nurse with adequate skills and knowledge to perform the duties of a personal support worker and who has the appropriate current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
