SE Health in Wasaga Beach, Ontario, invites applications for a Personal Support Worker Trainee. This paid training program spans six months, featuring five weeks of paid PSW training at 19.05 CAD/hour, followed by part-time community work while continuing education.

Virtual learning, in-person skills labs, and essential placements complete the program. Candidates should be caring, calm under pressure, and strong communicators, with valid driver’s license and mandatory certifications.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel and attend meetings to support the needs of the patient.
• Having a valid G or G2 driver’s license and your own reliable vehicle is mandatory.
• Having a Standard First Aid and level C CPR certificate due on Day 1.
• Proof of updated required immunizations (MMR, Varicella/Zosters, HepB, Tetanus) and a negative TB test (within last 6 months).
• Must have a clear police check and vulnerable sector check (Upon Job Offer).

Responsibilities

• Paid PSW training program: five weeks at $19.05/hr, Monday to Friday 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
• After initial training, part-time community work with SE Health while continuing PSW education.
• Four months of virtual learning, three weeks of in-person skills lab, and required placements.
• Training covers personal care, household management, and general support.

SE Health is excited to offer this new sponsored Personal Support Worker Training Program to provide a new generation of passionate PSW’s with the skills they need to help people in our communities.

This training program has been designed to provide you with all of the knowledge and skills you need to be successful.

This 6-month training program includes the following:

• Five (5) weeks of PAID PSW Training at $19.05/hr. Monday to Friday 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
• Candidates who successfully complete the first 5 weeks of the PSWpaid training program will be paid to work part time in the community with SE Health while continuing their PSW education
• The program continues with 4 months of virtual learning, 3 weeks of in person skills lab and required placements
• Training will cover personal care activities, household management, and general support.
