Overview

Personal Support Worker Trainee - Paid Training Program. SE Health offers a sponsored PSW Training Program to provide a new generation of passionate PSWs with the skills needed to help people in our communities. This program is designed to give you the knowledge and hands-on experience to be successful as a Personal Support Worker.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in a six-month training program including five weeks of paid PSW training, virtual learning, in-person skills labs, and required placements.
  • Provide personal care, support with household management, and general assistance to clients as part of training progression.
  • Work collaboratively with SE Health teams and adapt to varying needs in community and clinical settings.
Program Details
  • Five (5) weeks of paid PSW training at $19.05 / hr, Monday to Friday 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • After successful completion of the first five weeks, candidates may work part-time in the community with SE Health while continuing PSW education.
  • The program continues with four months of virtual learning, three weeks of in-person skills labs, and required placements.
  • Training covers personal care activities, household management, and general support.

Requirements
  • Ability to travel and attend meetings to support patient needs
  • Valid G or G2 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (mandatory)
  • Standard First Aid and level C CPR certification within 3 weeks of start date
  • Proof of updated required immunizations (MMR, Varicella / Zoster, HepB, Tetanus) and a negative Tuberculosis test within the last 6 months
  • Clear police check and vulnerable sector check (upon job offer)
