Job summary

Job description
Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Surgical Services, the Personal Support Worker performs a variety of tasks that enhance the overall functioning of the nursing unit and the delivery of patient care. As part of a multidisciplinary health care team, you will practice within the Philosophy of patient and family centered care, mission vision, values and the policies of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Qualifications
  • Personal Support Worker certificate
  • HealthCare Aide certificate with previous experience
  • Membership in the Ontario Personal Support Worker Association
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current certification in CPR
  • Patient care experience preferably in an acute care setting
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of infection control and isolation practices
  • Ability to work well as a member of a health care team
  • Ability to perform physical activity for periods of time
  • Ability to follow directions, policies and procedures

Salary Range: $29.286 to $29.930
