Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Personal Support Worker for Bradford Valley Community in Bradford, Ontario. This temporary full-time evening role focuses on compassionate resident care and daily living support under the collective agreement.

You will build relationships with residents and families, contribute to wellbeing, and help maintain comfort, dignity and respect in daily routines. A PSW credential and eligibility to work in Canada are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Personal Support Worker program from an approved college or private institution.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or possess a valid work/study permit.
• Must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Applicant screening may involve artificial intelligence review.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and assistance with activities of daily living (eating, dressing, hygiene, grooming) per individual care plans.
• Support residents with communication and social engagement; encourage use of assistive devices as needed.
• Administer specific medications under supervision of a registered health professional when trained.
• Ensure easy access to mobility aids and assistive devices for residents.
• Provide ongoing cognitive, social, emotional, and oral care; encourage participation in Resident Experience programs.

You will be a welcomed member of the Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents' lives. As a Personal Support Worker, you'll form a deep understanding of your residents and their living experience. You will build relationships with the residents and their family members, offering a variety of support options and program choices that enrich their daily health and well being. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

Provide Resident Supervision and Assistance

• support residents with their activities of daily living including eating, dressing, hygiene and grooming as per residents' individual plans of care

Provide Resident Care and Services

• aid residents with respect to their communication and connections by encouraging them to wear individual sensory aids such as glasses, hearing aids, etc.
• With additional prescribed training, administer specific medication to residents under the supervision of a registered health professional
• Ensure residents have constant and easy access to mobility or assistive devices such as canes, walkers, call bells, etc.

Who You Are:

• You are compassionate and dedicated to meaningful work that supports seniors in living life fully
• You have completed a Personal Support Worker program from an approved college or private institution.
• You are detailed-oriented and proficient in procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatment and can provide bedside care to residents
• You exercise tact and diplomacy in working with seniors, their families and general visitors
