AgeCare is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide compassionate care to residents according to individualized care plans. This role emphasizes maintaining a safe, respectful environment for residents, visitors, and colleagues.

You will monitor and document care, participate in trainings, assist onboarding, and uphold IPAC standards. A PSW certificate/diploma and Ontario-care standards knowledge are required to ensure quality bedside care for geriatric residents.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma Program.
• Meet the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
• Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
• Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.
• Knowledge of basic bedside care, sanitation, and geriatric resident needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor care per the established plan and report findings to supervisor.
• Document information pertaining to resident care as directed.
• Attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops.
• Assist in onboarding new staff as directed.

What You Will Do

• Assists in the monitoring of care given to residents ensuring it is in accordance with the established plan of care by observing residents and reporting findings to immediate supervisor.
• Assists in the documentation of information pertaining to the care of residents as directed.
• Attends in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops as directed.
• Assists in the onboarding of new staff as directed.
• Must follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.

What You Bring

• Graduate of Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma Program.
• Meet the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.

• Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care to residents. Must understand the basics of good sanitation and cleaning techniques and be knowledgeable with respect to the needs of geriatric residents.
