Job summary

AgeCare Ltd. is looking for a Personal Support Worker to provide compassionate care to residents in long-term care settings in Ontario. You will follow each resident's care plan, monitor health needs, and document care activities to support a safe, home-like environment.

Candidates must have a PSW certificate and understand geriatric care principles. Salary range is $27.84–$29.15 per hour, with placement based on qualifications and experience. Canadian work experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate/Diploma Program.
• Meet the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
• Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
• Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care to residents.
• Must understand the basics of good sanitation and clean techniques.
• Knowledgeable with respect to the needs of geriatric residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to residents according to care plans.
• Assist in identifying resident needs and maintaining a safe, secure environment.
• Monitor care to ensure it aligns with the established plan and report findings.
• Document information pertaining to residents’ care as directed.
• Attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops.

The Personal Support Worker is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in the identification of resident needs. The Personal Support Worker assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and other staff members.
